| Sinopsis: | Rosa tiene todo pensado, invitará a Flor a cenar sushi, beberán vino blanco y escucharán música. Al fin y al cabo las dos saben a lo que van. Pero no siempre las cosas salen como uno planea y unas palabras, unos momentos compartidos pueden replantear los prejuicios que cada una tiene sobre si misma y sobre la otra. |
| Synopsis: | Rosa has planned everything: she will invite Flor for a sushi dinner, they will drink white wine and will listen to some nice music. They both now what the real deal is… but things are not always as one plans them, and just a few words, a few shared moments can make them turn all their prejudices upside down to completely change their opinion about themselves and each other. |
| Biografía: | Mariel estudió la licenciatura en Diseño de Imagen y Sonido en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Después en España, se diplomó en Dirección Cinematográfica. Su debut como directora y guionista fue en el 2000 con “Nuestro bebé”. En 2003, realizó “Despedida (o la crisis de Argentina) con el que ganó el Premio al Mejor Guión de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. En 2005, hace “El gran plan (o las parejas de Ana)”. En 2006 ha realizó su primer cortometraje en 35 mm llamado “Leo y Abril (o la historia de un guión)” cuyo guión ganó el 1º Premio a nivel español del Concurso de Guiones de cortometrajes europeos NISIMASA 2004.
Desde que en 2006 su cortometraje “Flores en el Parque (o los primeros besos)” fuera estrenado en LesGaiCineMad obteniendo el premio a “Mejor Cortometraje” y “Mejor Obra española” su obra ha recorrido los festivales de todo el mundo hasta convertirse en uno de los referentes del cine LGTB. Luego con el estreno de “A domicilio (o incluso también el amor)” y la obtención por segundo año consecutivo del premio a “Mejor Cortometraje” en LesGaiCineMad. Mariel ha tenido la posibilidad de recorrer el mundo a través de la presentación de su trabajo en Festivales LGTB lo que le ha dado los contactos, la ilusión y la ambición de trasladar su experiencia a su mercado local. En estos es la Responsable de Industria y Mercado de LesGaiCineMad y está trabajando en desarrollar su primer largometraje. |
| Biography: | Mariel got a degree in Image and Sound Design at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Later in Spain she became a qualified Filmmaker at Séptima Ars. Her debut as a director and script-writer was in 2000 with “Nuestro bebé”. In 2003 she directed “Despedida (o la crisis de Argentina)” that won the Best Script Award at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. In 2005 she released “El gran plan (o las parejas de Ana)”. Then, in 2006, she released her first shortfilm shooted in 35 mm, “Leo y Abril (o la historia de un guión)” (14 min), whose script won the first prize in the European short film script-writing contest NISIMASA 2004.
In 2006 her shortfilm "Flowers at the Park (or first kisses)" was released in LesGaiCineMad obtaining the "Best Shortfilm" and "Best Spanish Film" awards. Her work has toured film festivals all over the world winning several awards and it has become one of the reference points for LGBT cinema. One year later, with the release of "At home (or love as well)" she won for the second consecutive year the "Best Shortfilm" award at LesGaiCineMad and she has had the possibility to travel the world presenting her film and collecting awards at LGTB Film Festivals. That has given her the contacts, the vision and the ambition to take her experience to her local market. At the moment she is the Head of Industry and Market for LesGaiCineMad and she is working in her first feature film. |
